DAVID STROHM
General Partner
Greylock Partners

PERFORMANCE
No list of prominent venture capitalists would be complete without David Strohm, a general partner with Greylock Partners for more than two decades. Strohm led the firm's involvement with companies such as Mentor Graphics, ccMail and Forte Software, as well as Net Effect Systems (acquired by Ask Jeeves) and Octane (now part of E.piphany). He has been a founding investor and board member of more than 20 software companies, of which nine went on to be publicly-traded.

HERITAGE
In the early 1980s, Strohm opened the Boston firm's branch office in San Mateo, and helped the firm evolve into one of the nation's largest and most influential early-stage venture capital enterprises.

ENGINEERING
Strohm holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A from Harvard Business School.
